Its cheaper and better to get Mac Book Pro in Apple Store in Taiwan than getting it in USA Apple Store, right? If I buy it in Taiwan, I will have customer support, etc. Am I right?

TKs Hiraku, but i just asked them today and the ppl at apple store said that u must be attending college this year, for the free ipod. And the free ipod is for rebate so you still gotta pay upfront first.

I think it's less expensive if you have someone in the US who can receive the MacBook Pro for you. For example, the low-end 13" model costs US$1159.30 (NT$38110) at Amazon.com with free shipping, and NT$42900 from the TW online Apple Store. Unless Amazon charges you a tax greater than 12.5%, it costs less in the US, as is almost everything else Apple.

When I was in college I did the math and realized that even after educational discount, taxes still made it more expensive than Amazon, and Apple products are generally less expensive if you buy it in the US with USD.

Like I just purchase a MBP 13" last month with my friend education discount.

$1099 instead of $1199.
Free 8GB iPod Touch, free Canon MP480 and I just have to cover the tax.

Isn't it a better deal than Amazon?

I think I agree with superssx, the catch of the education discount is that u still have to pay the tax for the purchase of ipod touch but no rebate......in addition, i think it's very difficult to sell the ipod touch on ebay right now cuz everyone is expecting the new model. If u need both macbook and ipod, then of course the education discount is the best. If not, i prefer buying it more directly.
By the way, back to the topic, I suggest if u r in states, then buy it in states, and vice versa.

如果能找到一台學生或教職員的朋友買的話，還可以送 IPOD TOUCH 8G

這就真的很方便了， 而我，是請朋友幫我找學生買的，但我不確定是否能

退款 ，所以我只買了 IPOD SUFFLE 也順利賣出，如果退款成功，

我的成本也下降個2千元，真的很不錯，
