Most iPhone tuners suffer from common problems:

* They consistently report inaccurate pitches;
* They provide extra features to confuse the user interface;
* The recording sensitivity is very poor particularly with high and low frequency sounds;

In order to resolve these issues, ChromaTuner performs spectrum analysis using an FFT algorithm developed specifically for iPhone and the heavy compression and close proximity characteristics of its built-in mic.
