The iPhone is placed faced down by the performer and a volunteer is asked to pick a number between 1 and 9 and announce it for the audience.

When the iPhone is picked up by the performer, it magically already shows the same number.

This does NOT use speech recognition and the performer can demonstrate this by having the volunteer "whisper" the number in the perfomers ear.
