Description:

"U.S.A. Oath & Inaugural" contains 36 inaugural addresses that span 31 of America's 43 Presidents.

Also included is the United States Constitution with all 27 Amendments, the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and a complete list of the Presidents with the date & location of their taking the oath of office.

Flip between four tabs that maintains each textual display (i.e. oaths, constitution, and two inaugurals without scrolling back).

See how the presidents addressed the times in which they took office: the founding fathers focused on the birth of a new nation, Lincoln's solemn oath during the Civil War, or Roosevelt's remarks about the Great Depression.

The purpose of this application is an unbiased comparison of America's Presidents, based upon their inaugural intent and historical context. Michael Elliot Byczek is a licensed attorney in the State of Illinois. The first phase of this project located these 36 inaugural addresses distributed across numerous federal government websites (i.e. National Archives and Records Administration, White House, Presidential Libraries, and House of Representatives). He manually transcribed every speech, from Presidents Washington to Grant, by hand, primarily using scanned images of Congressional documents from the Library of Congress. The remainder were already available in transcribed format on government websites. Citations are included. Only publicly available resources were used.
