Animation Timer 1

Price: $2.99 (iTunes)

Description:

Animation Timer is a simple stopwatch designed for animators.

Timing is very important in animation. In order to animate convincingly you must know how many frames each part of an action takes.
Animators can use a stopwatch to time out actions but there has always been an annoying problem. Stopwatches show time as 1/100ths per second but movie film runs at 24 frames per second. To find out how many frames you need to do a tiresome calculation containing 41.66667 each time.
I've always wanted a stopwatch that would show the time in exactly the format I need so I decided, what the hey, I might as well make one, so here it is.

To use:

Switch it on to prepare for recording time.
Tap the screen or shake the iPhone to start the timer.
Act out your performance and tap or shake the iPhone to time each key moment.
You can register up to 20 time entries.
When you are done, switch it off and you can scroll up and down to view the time entries.

Time formats:
- 24 Standard film timing. Frames at 24 frames per second.
- FTG 35mm film footage listed in feet and frames, 16 frames to a foot. This is the standard system used by traditional animators.
- SEC 1/100ths of a second. Standard stopwatch timing.
- 30 NTSC video standard, 30 frames per second.
- 50 PAL video standard, 50 frames per second.

Large numbers on the left show each time entry.
Smaller numbers on the right show the time between each entry.
