This app is designed to fill in for the Ekelund Range function of the typical Bearing Rate Calculator found on naval warships and submarines. Using recently declassified thumbrules developed by US Navy submarine officer (and genius) RADM John Ekelund.

The Ekelund range is useful for estimating range to a contact with only its SONAR bearings. The app takes your vessel's speed, course, bearing to the target, and the target's change in bearing -- over two maneuvering legs -- and provides a range using the Ekelund mathematical formula.
