RailSpeed is a model railroad speedometer.

Ever wonder how fast your model trains are running in scale speed? Now you can find out.

Speed is calculated by measuring the time it takes to travel a known distance. On your layout or test track measure a section of track as accurately as possible. This could be the lenth of a bridge, grade crossing or simply pen marks. Just about anything you know the length of. In RailSpeed, tap the info button. Select the scale of your model and the units in which you want speed to be calculated (MPH or KPH). Finally, enter the length you measured earlier and flip back to main screen.

As the front of the train hits one end of the measured section, tap the "Start Speed Calculation". When it reaches the other end, tap again. Your model train speed is displayed.

RailSpeed comes in handy when trying to configure DCC speed tables. It supports F, G, #1, O, S, HO, N & Z scales.
