Description:STORY
Masa returned to Ninoe. He expected some trouble but sent a
detailed document to Lord Haru.
He wrote about the result of the battle with Shiba and Aki’s
proposal for Yasu to marry his granddaughter. He had started
the battle without permission of Lord Haru. Although the
negotiation brought back Iwate County, his action deserved to be punished. And the county was not returned to Lord Nanbu, but to Masa as a custodian. It was done under the negligence of Lord Haru.
Masa could be critically accused from majority members of the clan.
Masa nonchalantly waited for an answer from Lord Haru, but his followers were not a little off-balanced. Their only hope
was for Sane’s intermediary as a son-in-law. Sane would pacify Lord Haru’s resentment. That was their last resort.
Sane and thirty followers came to Ninoe Castle four days after
Masa sent his report. Those who welcomed him at the main gate sighed a big relief when they saw Sane’s beaming face.
“Welcome, sir.” Harada, who performed an important job in the battle, greeted.
“Oh, glad to see you fine.” Sane delightedly looked around.
“I worried because I heard you lost more than three hundred. It’s a relief. Lord Haru is very glad for your victory. What I brought here are all perquisites from him.
Accept them.”
Sane’s words brought smiles all over.
