iEstimator provides a quick and easy tool for estimating the duration of software projects based upon similar projects from several thousand commercial ventures. By entering a small number of parameters found to be useful in estimation along with your estimate of how accurate your numbers are, the tool provides a probable duration for the project with the 1 standard deviation variance shown. In addition, the suggested team size is given along with an estimated cost given your blended hourly rates.
Future versions will provide milestone estimates, graphics for tracking and the ability to enter actual team data.
