Cross Section Calculator is a specialized, real-time, parametric calculator for many cross sections used in Engineering / Architecture / Mechanics of Materials. It computes 21 geometric and mechanical properties for 23 of the most common sections used in these fields (complete list below)The solutions are all done in real time once the geometric constrains are met (which you can see by double tapping on the section icon currently selected). You start with a default unit system for both input and output and during its use change every single one parameter independently of others:i.e.: you can enter width & height in inches, length in yards OR meters, unit weight in kg per cubic ft and your answers will all be presented correctly in the output units you want.A single tap on any given out unit will cycle the individual units through the ones available (the selection is preserved until you decide to change/reset them)This means you are free to obtain cross section areas in in2, while obtaining moments of inertia in ft^4, surface area per unit length in ft/ft or m^2/m and weight per unit length in grams/cms.You can also use the bundled Gauge Picker to pick among 15 international Gauge Standard the dimensions of any Cross Section measurement (ideal for thin wall or wires)The developer has manually checked every solution before release.
