Description:

This app is designed to teach young children (aged around 4 & 5) the basic skill of writing and recognising letters. It is specifically aimed at those in reception year at UK primary schools (key stage 1) but it will be useful to anyone learning to write. It uses lower case cursive letters that are read out using phonics and simple gesture recognition to give instant feedback on the quality of the letters written. The interface is very simple and designed to appeal to children. The complexity of the gesture recognition is hidden from the user. This is the first release of this app and we'd be really interested in feedback regarding how you find the cursive fonts used, the number of gestures required for each letter and the accuracy of the character recognition.
