When we introduced Guitar for the iPhone, the goal was simple: unleash the most playable instrument possible for the iPhone. This time, it's all about your personal Tone. It starts with a set of amazingly accurate, high-fidelity guitar samples created expressly for iShred. But then it gets really interesting! With its eight effects pedals and amp simulator, iShred gives you the tools you need to sculpt your own tone. Whether you're want a clean trebly surf sound, a spacey rock lead, or an all-out metal assault, iShred delivers the goods. The sonic line-up includes pickup selection, an amp simulator with adjustable overdrive, and these virtual stomp-boxes:

   * Adrenaline - Treble Booster, for when you need that extra shot.
   * HK-2000 Delay Unit - Dial in up to 2 seconds of delay for that fat slap sound or cavernous echo.
   * Hot Fuzz - Add a few bolts of buzz with this electifying distortion.
   * Kömpressör - Power chords wouldn't be the same without one. Now with Rock Dots™!
   * Q-36 Space Modulator - Multi-pattern modulation pedal with an attitude.

Use up to four effects on a song, and save all of the effects parameters with the song. Presets in the effect editing screen lets you save and recall your favorite sounds, or clone the effects chain from any song in your playlist.

Let your inner Shredder Shine!

As with Guitar, our advanced acoustic guitar app, iShred provides a playing interface that's both powerful and easy to learn. Create your songs from a huge library of over 2000 built-in chords, scales, and fret positions, by assigning them to the two rows of buttons at the top of the screen. The buttons give you immediate access to all the chords and scales you need for a song, and let you easily switch between strumming chords and playing melodies. You can even execute advanced moves such as hammer-on's, pull-off's, and pitch bends. Control volume by strumming a chord higher or lower on the on-screen strings.

Vari-speed Recorder

Once you've got your song and your sound mojo working, you'll want to capture your performance so that you can play it back for your friends, or yourself while you jam along with it. With iShred's Recorder, it's easy: just switch to the Recorder and press the red button. The recorder controls slide out of your way while *you* rock out! Press the stop button and you're done. You can then play the track back, and play along in real time with the recording. Of course the recording is saved along with the song, becoming part of your personal song library. Did we mention the built-in metronome? Tap-tempo? Undo and Redo?

Wireless backup

After putting together the song, sound, and recording, you're going to want to put them in a safe place, just in case you inadvertently smash your iPhone or set it on fire at the end of the gig. Want to save your songs in a safe place? Copy a song? Keep a backup before changing a song? Transfer a song to another iPhone, or to Guitar v1.2 (soon to be released)? iShred's web backup and retrieval make it easy to do any of these things anytime you have a wireless connection. Simply choose a username and password for yourself, and upload your creations to the Frontier Song Server. iShred's simple interface lets you login and backup or retrieve your songs in seconds!
