Description:Best of Klondike contains 4 GAMES of solitaire that all play like the famous "Solitaire" on another operating system. Originally this game-rule was called Klondike in the USA and is played with 52 cards.
In addition to the original rule, there are 3 German variations of Double-Klondike (104 cards) included that are at least 50 years old. The rules are called Surprise, Big Harp and My Mom´s. All of them are moderately easy to solve for advanced players, but also nice to play for solitaire beginners.
This collection is intended for Solitaire players that do not care to learn many different rules or setups, but like to play a well known rule in four excitingly different variations. The games are taken from the more expensive master solitaire collection, the Super Solitaire Tetralogy, so please note that there is a slight overlap if you have purchased/will purchase one of those games.
SURPRISE is a 104 card Klondike variation that starts with a real nice setup. It is called Surprise, because it can fail even if you are sure you have won already. This is my personal favorite.
BIG HARP is a huge 104 card Klondike style game as it is played in Germany. You have a better chance of solving the game, as the German rules provide one additional cascade compared to Double-Klondike.
MY MOM´s is a variation that my mom plays since forever. I do not know where she picked it up, but it is medium hard if you use a good strategy.
SOLITAIRE (Klondike/Easthaven) plays the easy and famous Klondike (deal 1) rule and the very hard to win Easthaven variation.
This game is built using the Super Solitaire Game Engine:
- drag and drop play
- minimal battery drain
- gestures (collect, hint, undo, deal)
- automatic save and resume
- animated dealing
- advanced hint system
- undo
- automatic card collection
- sound
Do not expect scoring, or fancy end of game graphics. The default rule of most games is well balanced and gives you good chances of winning a game. If that is too hard you can change some settings to make things easier. In contrast to some other Solitaire implementations Super Solitaire allows you to move any card and does not make any guesses based on the position of your finger. You play by dragging and dropping cards. Touch a card with your finger and drop it to some other location. As screen space is limited, some cascades are getting very tight, but with the stunningly accurate touch sensor of the iPhone it is still possible to select every single card.
