This is a free version of the Boatlaunch UK app, with a limited database.

Boatlaunch UK provides detailed and comprehensive information on marinas and slipways for the UK, Ireland and northern France. In addition to the detailed description and photographs, the listings also include telephone numbers and email addresses which you can use with a single click on your iPhone. For the marinas there are icons to show the facilities. For the slipways you get information on tidal access, charges, local facilities, PWC information, the lot. For all listing we show a location map and you can switch seamlessly into Google Maps to get detailed maps, satellite photographs and driving directions.

You can filter your results by distance from your current location or by selecting areas on the map. You can also filter to select only marinas or slipways. The application is completely self contained with all the photographs and simple location maps so you don't need to be connected to the internet to use it.

This free version includes 60 marinas and slipways from western Scotland. The complete version (available in the App Store) includes over 900 slipways and 350 marinas.

You will get best results using an iPhone with built-in GPS. However, the program will run fine on an iPod Touch and you can use the map feature to locate marinas and slipways.

The data comes from www.boatlaunch.co.uk, the unique boating website which since 2000 has been collecting information that is continuously updated by boating enthusiasts.
