Dr. Rounds is a healthcare application, designed by a surgeon, which allows healthcare professionals to easily keep a patient list which tracks admissions, daily visits, diagnoses, procedures, and maintains uninterrupted billing charges of patients. This application is perfect for hospital based specialists, as well as doctors in training. This will facilitate your medical/surgical practice by:

Dr. Rounds does not keep detailed patient information (such as past medical history or medications) that could be of privacy concerns; it keeps simple records that would have no real bearing on the individual in case the iPhone becomes compromised. Despite so, the program is password protected in keeps with HIPAA compliance.
The program allows doctors to create dated patient records. Each patient record has the Date seen, Patient’s name, Date of birth, Date of admission, Treatment, Diagnosis, Status, Hospital, and Physician category. The user can also enter as many notes as they desire about their patient’s visit. These fields are completely customizable and do not come with any standardization. This makes the program applicable to any medical specialty.
The main goal of this program is to keep a tight track on the billing status of the daily visits, consults, and procedures primarily encountered in an inpatient setting. The patient list is created on a given date and then patient encounters are recorded as new consults, daily visits, post-ops, procedures, etc... Once the patient is seen, they are marked as so. Subsequently, when the healthcare professional compiles their daily or weekly billing summary, they can confirm that all patients that have pending charges do get billed. An easy search can also display the missed charges.
When the doctor has finished for the day, they can securely email themselves their records for a hard copy of the report, or forward a copy to their colleague, partner, assistant, attending, or resident for easy sign-out. Moreover, using SyncDocs, the database can be backed up on a computer via Wi-Fi and restored to another person who has the Dr. Rounds application. In future updates, the Peer-to-Peer feature will facilitate data transfer between parties via Bluetooth®.
The doctor can conveniently copy single patient records to new dates, copy entire sets of patient records, and perform bulk updates to data. These bulk databases can be restored to another Dr. Rounds application in order to transfer patient data to other users. A great example would be an Intern transferring their data from rounds to the Chief Resident and/or Attending or a physician transferring their patient list to the physician on call.
