Description:Welcome to Gate Maps!
Gate Maps was designed with the expectation that you'll usually refer to a terminal map while in-flight or in areas with limited connectivity, and therefore works in Airplane mode (no network connection needed), on either an iPhone or iPod Touch. Also, given many airport sites use Flash for their maps, accessing such content from your iPhone/iPod Touch is currently not possible. PDF is another popular format, but the download time negates a quick lookup when you're rushing to make that connection!
Its primary purpose is to make it more convenient and less stressful to get your bearings in case of a late gate change.
Gate Maps covers 11 of the top 20 busiest US Airports (per 2007 FAA statistics, see full list below). Those airports not included either didn't have detailed enough gate information or were only available from commercial sites, prohibiting use of their maps. New maps will be added monthly by your popular requests on the site's project page, and will be free updates to the full version.
To use:
After launching, tap the row corresponding to the city of your airport. The first screen you see is the scrollable airport overview map. *Single* tapping one of the terminal areas brings up the more detailed, scrollable view of that area, enabling you to view the layout of the gates. Single tap anywhere on a detail map to return to the overview. Or at any point, from either a detailed view or the overview, you can return to the full list with the "
