ASCII Art Shop lets you turn any picture into an ASCII art masterpiece. Take a picture or pick one from your saved photos and watch as it gets transformed into letters, numbers and symbols.

Two methods are used to produce two different types of ASCII art for each photo. Mode 'A' fills in the entire image with characters and gives a very dense look. This approach works best if you only use a few different characters, otherwise it can look cluttered. Mode 'B' focuses on using characters to recreate the edges from the original image, giving a rough outline of the scene.

You can adjust which characters you want to use and choose their size to customize your art. For the edge-based approach you can even tweak the sensitivity to remove background noise or maintain details. Play with all these settings and you're sure to end up with a good looking ASCII piece for most any image.

When you've got something looking good, tap 'Save to Album' and your active view will be saved to your photo album. Then you'll be able to email your artwork to friends or set it as your wallpaper from inside the iPhone Photos app - or even assign it as a contact picture.
