Taxi in Beijing is relative cheap compared with major cities in the world. $1.5 for first 3 KM, $0.3/KM thereafter. 1/4 of the price at New York! And no tip!
Asking for receipt when you get off taxi, and keep it for a while. You might need to contact the taxi, or complain to taxi company; the taxi driver would not overcharge you when you have an evidence in hand.
