PhotoOverlays are a feature in Google Earth for projecting photographs into 3D landscapes. So much more than simply accessing pictures through a map, PhotoOverlays place the picture into a geo-spatial context. Although the potential for PhotoOverlays is enormous: from personal travelogs to real estate listings, they are difficult to create as one must know not only the location of the photographer (latitude, longitude, and elevation) but the orientation of the camera as well. Intelligent Gadget's PhotoOverlay Tool app uses the iPhone's GPS and accelerometer to determine all of the information necessary to make PhotoOverlays for Goggle Earth.

This version (PhotoOverlay Tool Lite) uses the camera roll on the iPhone and email to send the information needed to construct KML photo overlays. The paid version (PhotoOverlay Tool) provides an HTML server for quick and easy download. Both have the same functionality.
