Space War was first written for the PDP-1 in 1962. This classic video game is now available for the iPhone and iPod Touch. In this game, space ships orbit a star while launching missiles at targets and opponents. Simple controls allow thrust, turn, and fire to avoid incoming missiles, while steering clear of a fiery plunge into the sun.

This free App lets you practice your skills in piloting your ship and shooting at targets. If you upgrade to the standard version of Space War Classic, you can compete against a friend by connecting over WiFi.
