Ok, it's not magic, and the iPhone can't read anything from your fingers except that you're touching it. If you don't want to know the secret and you just want to have fun with it, stop reading now. It all has to do with what happens after the first finger is placed on a heart but before the second finger touches. If the phone doesn't move much between the first and second touch, the result will be random. If the top of the phone is tilted up between the first and second touch (by around 20 degrees), the result will be at the top of the meter. If the top of the phone is tilted down, the result will be very low.
