Introduction

Surveyor is a new offering from TouchMetric Inc. It was designed in concert with a marketing firm to provide an efficient and mobile survey or data collection tool. The decision to create a new mobile tool for this purpose was made after considering the other options available both in a more traditional paper format as well as other electronic tools. We found a common theme in these other options being that they are not engaging to the audience being surveyed and in the case of the electronic options often lack usability. After seeing these common themes we came up with a few core values that our ideal system would embody.

Simple

The one thing we found while looking over other electronic survey tools was that many of them leave much to be desired when it comes to ease of use. Our philosophy is that the easier the tool is to use the more accurate your results will be as your respondents are focused on the survey and not on how to use the device. Our surveys are fully managed through a separate online control panel which keeps the device as simple as possible.

Centralized

Keeping everything centralized means that you only ever have to input survey questions or other information once. We don't like to repeat ourselves and you don't want to either. Our tool has a single access point for all management tasks. Whether you are adding a new device, making a new survey or viewing data that is collected, it should all happen from a central point. This means that once a device is paired to your control panel it should synchronize any changes you make to your projects, researchers, locations and so forth. The device will also upload any results collected as often as it is able to allowing you watch results in realtime.
