But when you use DoThisFirst, each task has its own graphical dashboard showing how urgent the task is and how much time you should spend on that task today in order to stay on track. Tasks are sorted by urgency, so the most urgent tasks are always at the top of the list.
With some todo list programs you might enter data and never interact with it again, but with DoThisFirst a quick drag of the "Amount Done" slider updates your task progress. It's so easy, you'll want to update your list often. When you change the slider DoThisFirst will then re-evaluate the urgency of your tasks and re-sort the list.
Entering a new task is easy, just fill in a few small text fields, use the date picker to set a deadline, and use the time picker to estimate how many hours or minutes you think it will take to complete the task. DoThisFirst starts prioritizing your tasks immediately. All task dashboards are shown in the scrolling list. Just flick to scroll as you would any list on iPhone or iPod Touch.
If you manage a team, DoThisFirst is a great tool for making your rounds with each team member and adjusting the task slider as they report their progress. Assigning a task to someone else is as easy as selecting their name from a list generated from your address book. You'll have instant urgency dashboards for each task and can take corrective steps to keep your team marching forward. NOTE: DoThisFirst does not send or receive data at this time. We are investigating this ability for future versions with security as our top priority.
DoThisFirst features global settings for adding buffer time for unexpected delays and adjusting your effective work week. If you're like most people you go to meetings, classes, or just can't seem to get through endless emails, so you hardly ever get a full 8 hours of work done in a single day. Global settings allow you to set a realistic number of hours per day you can actually work. DoThisFirst will use your global settings when evaluating your tasks in order to keep you on track.
