DocViewer LITE is a trimmed down "lite" version of the full DocViewer application, a document viewing program for the iPhone and iPod touch.

The Full Version of DocViewer, separately available from the App Store, adds (1) Folders to organize your files, (2) Scroll bar to facilitate viewing of long documents, (3) DocViewer Password protection, (4) Support for Microsoft Office 2007 (Windows) and Office 2008 (Mac OS X) file formats (.docx, .xlsx, & .pptx), and (5) Expanded Help screen detailing all supported file types.

DocViewer LITE utilizes wireless FTP to transfer files from a specified folder on a personal computer to an iPhone or iPod touch over your Wi-Fi network.

Detailed instructions to configure FTP for Windows Vista, Windows XP Professional, and Mac OS X (version 10.5 Leopard & 10.4 Tiger) are provided on the DocViewer website. Links to these support pages are also provided in DocViewer and open in the Safari web browser on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Supported document types in DocViewer LITE include PDF documents (.pdf), Microsoft Word (.doc), plain text files (.txt), Microsoft Excel (.xls), Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt), and image files (.jpg, .jpeg, .tif, .tiff, .gif, .bmp, & .png).

Landscape mode as well as zooming and panning is supported for viewing all document types.

REQUIREMENTS include iPhone 2.2 Software Update, Wi-Fi connection, and FTP connection.
