Checkers is one of the best known, but underrated, board games. With its simple rules it may look that checkers is a slow and easy game. While anyone can understand the basics of the play, there is a lot to learn to master the game. Winning is not a question of luck, but rather of strategy and skill.

Checkers is probably descended from ancient game "Alquerque" which was played in Egypt about 3,500 years ago. During medieval times it was popular in South Europe. Now there are several varieties of the game: English, Russian, Spanish, Italian, International and so on (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draughts).

The application allows to play only one variant of checkers, known as Checkers, English Checkers, English Draughts, American Checkers or Straight Checkers (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_draughts).

Following features are included
-Animations show possible moves. This is useful for learning the game: only allowed moves are shown. The game will not allow to make illegal moves such as long jumps or huffs.
-Single player and two-player modes.
-Configurable difficulty level.
-Undo and redo buttons allow to review the whole game and try a better move at any point.
-Auto save for the unfinished game and settings
-Puzzles (game positions that player can solve)
-Ability to play for blacks or writes
-Multiple ways to make a move:
you could touch the start and the end positions or
drag the piece to the end position or
slide the piece towards the desired position and let the piece continue sliding on its own.
