If you have never played the classic board game Clue from Hasbro... shame on you. It's been a favorite at our home and in the office.

Over the countless games we've played, one common thing is always witnessed... People try to make up their own statistics and read into other player's "moves" in order to stay ahead of the curve on what the winning combination might be.

Speaking as a Clue player that wins more often than I lose (brag brag)... I thought it would be interesting to level the playing field (at least for those who have an iPhone or iPod Touch) by creating an app that approaches the game from a logical point of view.

"Get-A-Clue" is an app that basically replaces the scratchpad that comes with the game. But it's not just a scratch pad though... with will keep track of all the guesses that are made during the course of the game (both your guesses and those of your opponents). With that database of guesses it can give you some real valuable statistics and even "check off a few extra boxes" for you.

You should be warned though... using this will make winning easier. ;-)

On a personal note:

I personally have a deep affection for the game, and recently that affection was re energized with the discovery that Hasbro has given this much beloved game a makeover in 2008. The game has been on the shelves for 60 years, for good reason, but they decided to update the game. They did a great job. Some of the room names have changes, and there are some new weapons.

This app can work with both the classic version and the new version. For example, weapon and room names are editable.

We've included some game statistics already, but I have no doubt there will be some Clue aficionados that have their own statistics and methods of play so send them and BECOME FAMOUS!

Ok, we can’t promise you fame... but we can promise you bragging rights if your submission is accepted.

If you have a statistic or secret strategy that you think would be a good addition. Let us know. We’ll put it in, and name it after you. Tell us the name you want to give it, and if we accept it you could see it added to the statistics section. Yes, that’s right... you can impress the ladies (or that hunk down the hall); win friends, and influence power people when you show them your mathematical prowess was recognized at a global level in an iTunes App.

There’s limited space there, so you’ll have to keep the name simple like “Smith’s Magic”, or “Punky’s Picks”, or “Dr. Tim’s Trifecta”, or something like that... and please... it’s a family show so keep it at least moderately clean.
