Description:

Asperger's Disorder (AspD) is a mild autistic
spectrum disorder. Autistic spectrum disorders are
also called 'pervasive developmental
disorders' (PDD). Besides their strength in different
areas, individuals with AspD tend to have limited
social flexibility which can significantly interfere
with their social success. AspD is diagnosed at a
clinical setting by mental health professionals,
based on established diagnostic criteria, through a
face-to-face evaluation. The following "test" is a
group of questions inquiring about AspD
symptoms, consistent with the latest (DSM-IV-TR)
diagnostic criteria published by American
Psychiatric Association.

***PHYSICIANS AND OTHER HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS:
This simple application will give you an opportunity to accurately screen your child, adolescent and adult patients for Asperger's Disorder (AspD). You can email the positive symptoms to yourself to print and put into the patient's chart and/or to copy and paste the positive symptoms into your letter when referring your patient to a mental health professional.

Please note that this is NOT a diagnostic tool, so the application can only state that the subject MAY INDEED have AspD, if all the diagnostic criteria are met. Otherwise it will state that the subject has SOME symptoms, or NO symptoms at all.
