Description:Greann Clock is a fun, easy, free way to learn a little Irish!
Are you just beginning your Irish language (Gaeilge) studies? Here is an easy way to learn the numbers and how to tell time.
Open Greann Clock, and a nifty little animation shows you a clock with the number for the current hour on the left. On the right is the Irish translation. For example, at one o'clock, a "1" will appear on the left, and "Tá sé a hAon a Chlog" ("It is one o'clock") will appear on the right.
Tap the "Abair é!" ("Say it!") button, and you will hear the Irish text spoken. This is a fun and handy way to learn not only the spelling, but also the pronunciation of Irish words for numbers and time.
Tap the "i" (information) icon in the lower right of the screen, and the view will flip over to show you the vocabulary used for time. Tap the Done button, and you're returned to the main view.
Tap the Greann Forums button on the bottom left, and Safari will open to Greann.com, an Irish language learners' forum. There, you can ask questions or contribute answers to others' questions. We have forums for beginners and more advanced levels. It's a fun way to continue your Irish learning. ("Greann" means "fun"!)
