Description:

I am what you would call a skeptic. When I tell people I’m from Missouri – the “Show Me” state – I really mean it. I was born
and raised in a suburb of St. Louis, and I spent the first 20 years of
my life in Missouri.

There’s no doubt about it – I’m a doubting Thomas. When-ever I receive an e-mail containing what I believe may be an urban legend, I always check out the facts before forwarding the e-mail to anyone else. After all, I don’t want to pass along anything that I haven’t verified to be true. Why am I telling you all this? Because I was very skeptical when a Christian friend told me that Jesus was – and is – the Jewish Messiah.

It took me over a year of intensive study before I came to believe that the answer to the title of this book is: Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the Living God. I literally read hundreds of books and
booklets, most of which were critical of Jesus’ claim to be the Messiah.

But as a journalist and writer, I knew how to do research, and I decided to follow the evidence – even if it took me in a direction I didn’t want to go. Though I’m a skeptic, at least I’m an honest skeptic. So when the overwhelming evidence took me to the feet of Jesus, I gave up the fight and surrendered. Over the ensuing 35 years, some of my Jewish friends have told me I’ve been brainwashed. Now, I have to ask how they could charge me with something like that. After all, I had the intellectual integrity to examine both sides of the issue. Had they done that?

I feel that if anyone has been brainwashed, it’s those who are exposed to only one side of the story.

They believe what they believe because that’s what they’ve been taught. Sadly, too many people nowadays don’t want to make the effort or take the time to examine both sides of an issue like this.
That’s exactly why I wrote this book! I don’t expect anyone to study three hours a day for over a year to see whether Jesus is the
iv Messiah or an imposter. But I feel that anyone can spend an hour ortwo reading this book.

Perhaps you’ll come to the same conclusion that I did. Perhaps not. But at least you’ll be able to say you’ve looked at both
sides.
