QuakeWatch displays a listing of earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 and greater from around the world over the past week as provided by the US Geological Survey. Because hundreds of earthquakes can occur each week, the listing is limited to 50 according to the sort criteria as outlined below.

The key features of QuakeWatch include:

• Sort by the most recent earthquakes.
• Sort by the largest earthquakes over the past week.
• Sort by the closest earthquakes over the past week using Location Services.
• Filter out smaller earthquakes by setting the minimum to be between 2.5 and 5.0.
• Selecting an earthquake from the list will present the information in a larger format along with the USGS provided location map.
• Selecting the additional details button will present the USGS web site for more information.
• All times are displayed in the local time zone and dates use relative formats (Today, Yesterday).
• Earthquake magnitudes are color-coded indicating their strength.
• The app is free.
