Moon Globe HD is a virtual globe of Earth's Moon made specifically for the iPad. Satellite imagery and laser altimeter data are matched with the iPad's advanced graphics capabilities to render the Moon with incredible realism. Use the multitouch screen to manipulate the view in realtime 3D. A "tag cloud" floats just above the surface, labeling terrain features and spacecraft; just touch any label to find out more about that feature.

Spin above the surface, taking in the hidden far side, and look over the limb to see Earth in the distance. Switch to Telescope mode and see the Moon as it appears from your location on Earth, zooming in with up to 400x magnification. Adjust the display time and watch the sunlight shift over the lunar landscape. Moon Globe also shows you where the Moon and Sun are in the sky with its dynamic sky compass. You can even view the globe in anaglyph 3D using red-cyan glasses (glasses not included).

Moon Globe HD is for iPad only. It has been re-written to use a higher-resolution surface map and the greater graphics capabilities of the iPad. For the iPhone and iPod Touch, please check out the original free Moon Globe.
